Looking for some winter fun?  Come out and participate in the HWF&G Battleship 22 shoots!  Shooters will go Head-2-Head in matches and advance through a bracket format to see who reigns supreme.

For those of you not familiar with the popular game here is the basic premise.  You and your opponent alternate shots trying to shoot out the target dots of your opponent’s boats (red player shoots at green dots and vice versa).   The first player to hit all the 16 dots to sink the 5 boats in their opponent’s fleet, wins and advances to face another opponent.

The first shot in each battle is determined by the high roll of a single die.   Each opponent must shoot their respective shots within a 30 second interval.

Round 1 matchups are determined by random draw with subsequent matches based on the bracket.   A “second chance” bracket will be run so shooters having lost may continue to complete, if desired.  Entry fee is $10/rifle and cash payouts awarded depending on the number of shooters participating.

Who can participate?   These events are open to both members and non-members ages 12 and up.  Any minor children MUST be accompanied and supervised by a parent or guardian.

Equipment restrictions:  All competitors must provide their own 22LR firearm and ammo.   No rail guns are permitted.  All other firearm types are allowed (pistol, rifle, bolt action, semi-auto, etc.) but must be chambered for 22LR.  Shooter may use a front and rear bag/rest but they must be separated (ie. No shooting sleds).  There are no restrictions on the scope/optic used.

Schedule:
Shoots will be held weather permitting from 10am till ? on the following Saturdays…Dec 28, Jan 4 & 18, Feb 1 & 15, and March 1 & 15

Miscellaneous Details:  Targets will be placed at 50 yards.  The target dots are approximately 5/8” in diameter.  In the event a shoot is cancelled,  a posting will be made on the website no later than 9am the day of the shoot.
